**What will you do?**:
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Commercial Finance Business Partner to partner with the business as a trusted advisor to Target Merchandise and Trade teams.** The primary purpose of this role is to support the Merchandise and Trade functions with budgeting, planning, commercial analysis and insights to drive optimum sales, profit and stock outcomes in line with overall strategy. Steer the business to deliver results and KPIs through weekly and monthly trade insights, profitability and performance analysis.**

This is a senior role within Target Commercial Finance with a strong relationship across all areas of the business to drive major end to end business initiatives in Merchandise and Trade. This role will be highly visible with senior leadership at Target and is a great pathway to build a successful career within Target Commercial Finance and the broader Group.

Other key responsibilities include:

- Steering the business to deliver results and KPIs through weekly and monthly trade insights, profitability and performance analysis, identification of risks and opportunities
- Leading the corporate planning and budgeting processes for Merchandise, setting sales and margin budgets, forecasts and stretch targets
- Financial review, analysis and decision support for business problems, strategic projects and new investments. Draw insights, make recommendations and deliver outcomes
- Shaping the trade and promotional strategy through insights on category trends and price elasticity, macroeconomic impacts, and competitor landscape
- Drive stock turnover, weeks cover and availability targets through review of inventory position and risk identification with stakeholders
- Driving the digital acceleration agenda through use of customer insights and data improving Target's omni channel presence and facilitating collaboration between Merchandise and Online
- Simplification and continuous process improvement

**What are we looking for?**:
Qualifications, Experience and Knowledge:

- Tertiary qualification in Finance, Commerce or related discipline
- Qualified CPA/CA
- Minimum 2 years retail experience as a finance partner to senior Merchandise leaders
- 5 to 7 years' experience in a commercial finance role in a large, fast paced organisation
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, advanced Excel knowledge, and strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical skills, ability to simplify complex problems and share a succinct narrative
