That's refreshing.As the Project Engineer – Transmission Lines, you will provide engineering and technical support for the development and delivery of transmission line projects at AusNet.You will offer expert technical advice on both customer-initiated and company-driven projects across our transmission network, involving high voltage (HV) and extra high voltage (EHV) conductors, towers, gantries, optical ground wire (OPGW) circuits, and related infrastructure.You'll collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, design management, and construction and commissioning teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, cost-effectively, and to high standards.This role offers a hybrid working arrangement (Office / WFH) based in South Bank, part of the Transmission Delivery Team.
Occasional travel to AusNet Offices, Depots & Assets will be required.The role delivers outcomes including:Contributing to the development of scopes and specifications for estimation, assessing brownfield and greenfield transmission line designs, and providing technical input on staging, constructability, operability, maintainability, and safety in design.
Using tools like PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, and TOWERFoundation for design and modelling.Developing scopes and estimates for transmission line projects to ensure cost-effective and feasible business cases, supporting project schedules and risk assessments, and responding to engineering queries on customer projects.Identifying opportunities to develop or improve standards, and ensuring the timely delivery of efficient solutions for complex engineering designs, including process improvements and new methods.Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Supporting estimation and scheduling activities.Updating and developing engineering standards as needed.We are looking for a good combination of:QualificationsTertiary qualification in Civil, Structural, or Mechanical EngineeringFull driving licenseRegister Engineer in Victoria (RPEV) or eligibleExperienceProven experience in Transmission Line DesignTechnical knowledge of electricity networks engineeringAbility to simplify complex engineering concepts for non-engineersUnderstanding of project lifecycles, design, and construction, including performance, functionality, operation, maintenance, and risksExperience in transmission line engineering, project delivery, or design rolesA place to belong.We celebrate diversity and unique voices through social clubs, family days, and Employee Network Groups.What sets us apart:Flexibility: hybrid work, flexible hours, or part-time optionsGenerous leave: more than typical personal leave and 14 weeks paid parental leaveCommunity giving: paid volunteer day with our social impact partner, Foodbank, or a cause you care aboutPerks: purchased leave, income protection, novated leasing, discounts, private health cover, and moreJoin us if you're passionate about our purpose and committed to making progress.
