Project Engineer

Job Description

CaSE Contractors is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our team. As a Project Engineer, you will ensure the effective coordination and control of engineering works for designated projects through activities such as technical, engineering, inspection, scheduling, planning, survey, procurement, and quality control based on CaSE / Clients standards. On-site, the Project Engineer is responsible for assisting in ensuring the safe and successful completion of the project on schedule, within budget, and to the specified quality.

Duties and Responsibilities

Quality, Environmental, and Safety
  • Ensure all quality and environmental aspects of the project are addressed to maintain effective operation and project delivery.
  • Record non-conformances and initiate corrective actions promptly.
  • Prepare Inspection Test Reports and checklists reflecting contract requirements.
  • Conduct internal audits on project suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Lead by example by meeting safety KPIs and briefing site supervisors on activities and risks.
  • Ensure all activities and issues are documented on site diary forms by the Site Supervisor.
Planning and Operations
  • Manage operational aspects of work crews to ensure effective use of systems and processes across all project phases.
  • Ensure the scope of work meets or exceeds performance targets related to time, cost, and quality.
  • Contribute to short, medium, and long-term planning of project works.
  • Review subcontractors' construction programs and identify critical areas/risks.
  • Forecast labor hours required for scope of work.
  • Answer questions from the site team and escalate to the Project Engineer as needed.
Resourcing
  • Ensure contractual requirements are satisfied at the work crew level.
  • Coordinate resource allocation, promote teamwork, and foster a positive attitude towards organizational objectives.
  • Track subcontractor resources daily and record accurately.
  • Prepare cost plans and resources for daily cost planning meetings.

The Successful Candidate Will Possess

  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role
  • Good negotiation skills and experience dealing with external stakeholders and regulators
  • Excellent communication skills
  • University Degree in Civil Engineering is desirable
