**Position Information**:
Scone Public School (enrolment 416 students, including 66 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students) has a dedicated staff, with a combination of experienced and early career teachers who work collaboratively with the community to provide high quality teaching and learning programs. The school is an active member of the Upper Hunter Community of Schools. The school is a PBL (Positive Behaviour for Learning) school with a strong focus on developing students who are Respectful, Responsible and Considerate. The school has engaged with Visible Wellbeing and Visible Learning professional learning to embed a culture of wellbeing and Visible Learning as the foundations to ensure every student is known, valued and cared for.
As well as the academic programs, our students excel in a diverse range of programs including the creative arts, debating and sports and many other co-curricular areas which develop each students' interests and talents whilst building their confidence and self-esteem. The school has a Breakfast Club and runs many wellbeing programs through the Student Support Officer. There is a strong emphasis on Learning Walks forming part of the reflective practice of teachers. There is a strong and supportive P&C who work collaboratively with the school and run the Canteen and Uniform Shop.
**Selection Criteria**:
- In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary with a proven ability to lead a team with high expectations to implement evidence-informed teaching and learning practices to drive student and school growth.
- Proven capacity to build strong positive relationships and collaborate with all key stakeholders, within a culturally diverse school community.
- Demonstrated capacity to lead and embed whole-school initiatives to drive the growth and development of students social, wellbeing, cultural and academic success.
- Leading and mentoring staff to embed effective assessment practices that inform and improve the success of literacy and numeracy programs to address students' needs.
**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
- 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs- 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams- 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents- 5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning- 6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies**Conditions**:
