Financial Governance Position
We are seeking a skilled Treasurer to join our Board of Directors and contribute to the financial management of our organisation.
Job Description
This is a part-time, governance-level role that requires strong financial oversight and reporting skills. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the Board has the necessary financial information to make informed decisions.
The Treasurer will work closely with the Chair, CEO, and Finance and Risk Subcommittee to provide strategic advice and support. This will include reviewing financial reports, overseeing risk, and ensuring the integrity of our financial systems and compliance.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in financial oversight and reporting, preferably in the not-for-profit sector. CPA or CA status (or equivalent level of experience) is highly desirable.
Familiarity with funding agreements, acquittals, and grants processes is also essential. Experience serving on boards or in governance roles is helpful but not essential.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Demonstrated experience in financial oversight and reporting
CPA or CA status (or equivalent level of experience)
Understanding of DGR-specific obligations and relevant tax requirements
Familiarity with funding agreements, acquittals, and grants processes

The position offers:
A two-year term (minimum)
An average time commitment of 10 hours per month, including board and committee preparation and meetings, and occasional important events
