The Salvation Army Youth Services offer an integrated suite of programs engaging with young people across Australia. Our services create intentional avenues for young people to explore opportunities, build support networks, and access, participate and contribute to their communities. Youth services provide a diverse range of programs which include housing and homelessness, driver training, education, employment and training, AOD support, social and community activities, specialist therapeutic responses and youth justice programs.
We are currently seeking a values-driven Hospitality Vocational Trainer to deliver accredited training to participants enrolled in Certificate II Hospitality and school based training packages. This will include the negotiation of work experience placements for students.
You will successfully
- Plan, prepare and deliver courses /training according to the training package or accredited course and in line with industry standards
- Provide flexible learning and assessment strategies which will meet the learning needs of a range of students
- Development of session plans, handouts and course materials in line with internal and external standards
- Design and manage student assessments ensuring a range of assessment methods are utilised
- Ensure all administration/record management requirements of the vocational trainer are met, including; student competency records/ attendance records/ student assessments/ competency assessment matrix (CAM)
- Demonstrates on a continual basis, a commitment to assisting and supporting clients in all learning activities
You will have
- Certificate III or higher in Hospitality
- TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
- Extensive understanding of the Hospitality industry
- Demonstrated experience in preparation of Training and Assessment Strategies
- Experience working with disadvantaged learners, highly regarded
- Minimum 5 years relevant industry training experience
- Current working with Children Check (blue card)
- A willingness to undergo a National Police Check
