As the Principal Policy Officer, you will be part of diverse team of professionals that will work on a variety of forestry related initiatives, including the analysis of complex matters, formulation of options as solutions and the negotiation of recommended outcomes.
We are looking for motivated individuals with policy experience who bring relevant practical skills, particularly communication skills, and can work in a diverse and fastpaced environment. Self-starters who can work autonomously to deliver quality outcomes, as well as be part of team to collaboratively 'get things done', are most suited to this role.
The Principal Policy Officer will provide regular strategic advice and recommendations to senior leaders as well as other key internal and external stakeholders, including the preparation of whole of government policy papers, submissions, reports and briefing notes.
Existing knowledge of the forest and timber industry, extractive industries, and/or land management in Queensland while not essential will be highly regarded for this role.
