**About the Opportunity**:
An exciting opportunity exists to be part of School Performance & Learning Access, Teaching, Leadership, Rural & Remote. The Principal Project Officer reports directly to the Manager of the School Performance & Learning Access team and is required to provide high-level support for implementation of policy and initiatives, and delivery of information and communications relating to a wide range of educational and legislative issues.

**About the Role**:
As the Principal Project Officer, your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

- Work collaboratively with project teams within Teaching, Leadership, Rural & Remote
- Support development, implementation and continual review of programs and projects
- Create project evaluation documentation and coordinate associated governance groups for projects
- Manage competing priorities to ensure colleagues and leaders have timely access to up-to-date, accurate analysis of information
- Support project leaders and senior officers by preparing and coordinating reports, submissions, briefings, presentations, meeting notes/outcomes and the preparation of correspondence and responses
- Ensure all corporate processes are followed and legal and financial requirements are met.

**Our ideal applicant will have the following key attributes**:

- Demonstrated sound knowledge, or the ability to rapidly acquire a sound knowledge of the department's agenda for improvement in state schools, relevant legislation, the Department's Strategic Plan, and policies and strategies relating to state schools.
- Proven ability to design, develop and implement changes to operational policies, systems and creative solutions within a changing environment.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully lead and participate in a work team and to undertake a variety of project activities.
- Proven ability to be accountable for the timely review of relevant project plans, reports and commitments and achievement of project objectives.
- High level of communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to establish productive relationships with a variety of clients and stakeholders.
