About the opportunity
Join the team at Werribee Mercy Hospital, a dynamic public hospital located in the vibrant and fastest growing corridor of Victoria.
As the Senior resident in our Orthopaedics Unit, you will have the opportunity to coordinate day-to-day operations, contribute to patient management decisions, collaborate closely with our senior medical staff, and stay up to date with the latest orthopaedic knowledge and skills.
The position will be as a orthopaedics resident for 12 months, with opportunities during the year to act as a junior orthopaedic registrar. About the Role
- Aiding in coordinating and managing the day-to-day operations of the unit, including working with junior medical staff
- Making critical decisions related to patient management, working with daily ward rounds, and ensuring that all patients are assessed and treated in a timely manner.
- Maintaining close communication and collaboration within the unit, particularly regarding patients requiring urgent and ongoing care.
- Thoroughly documenting patient information in the health record, reviewing patient progress regularly, and developing a discharge plan that is communicated with all relevant parties.
- Keeping up to date with medical knowledge and skills, participating in quality improvement and audit activities, and performing other duties as required by the Medical Workforce.
Applications must be made directly to Mercy Health.- Australian Trained (Permanent Resident) Graduate of a Victorian Medical Faculty- Australian Trained (Permanent Resident) Graduate of an Interstate Medical Faculty- Temporary Resident Medical Graduate of a Victorian Medical Faculty- Temporary Resident Medical Graduate of an Interstate Medical Faculty- Australian Medical Council Graduate (who has obtained Permanent Residency and is completing the requirements for (or currently holds) General Medical Registration in Australia)- New Zealand Medical Graduates (Permanent Resident or International full-fee student)- International Medical Graduate (Australian Permanent Resident) who will complete 12 months of workplace-based assessment at an Australian hospital (Competent Authority Pathway)
