This role is a flexible permanent part-time opportunity with a minimum of 16 hours per fortnight, working Monday to Friday in divided shifts.
The successful candidate will support the general medical admission assessment of patients as voluntary clients at Ramsay Clinic Cairns.
Responsibilities and Key Objectives
Conduct thorough patient assessments to identify their needs and implement appropriate treatment plans in collaboration with other healthcare professionals.
Deliver high-quality medical care based on evidence-based practices to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
Prioritise and provide timely medical interventions in accordance with professional standards and hospital policies.
Provide clinical guidance and support to colleagues, acting as a resource person and role model for staff.
Assist in education and training of clinical staff and medical students within areas of expertise.
Participate in discharge planning, coordinating activities with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient transitions.
Ensure accurate and compliant medication management, documentation, and prescription practices.
Manage medical emergencies and code situations effectively, including de-escalation techniques for potentially aggressive patients.
Essential Requirements and Qualifications
A valid National Police check conducted within the previous 12 months.
Ramsay may require a Working-With-Children check and proof of immunisation against infectious diseases for certain roles.
