  • This role is a flexible permanent part-time opportunity with a minimum of 16 hours per fortnight, working Monday to Friday in divided shifts.
  • The successful candidate will support the general medical admission assessment of patients as voluntary clients at Ramsay Clinic Cairns.

Responsibilities and Key Objectives

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments to identify their needs and implement appropriate treatment plans in collaboration with other healthcare professionals.
  • Deliver high-quality medical care based on evidence-based practices to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Prioritise and provide timely medical interventions in accordance with professional standards and hospital policies.
  • Provide clinical guidance and support to colleagues, acting as a resource person and role model for staff.
  • Assist in education and training of clinical staff and medical students within areas of expertise.
  • Participate in discharge planning, coordinating activities with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient transitions.
  • Ensure accurate and compliant medication management, documentation, and prescription practices.
  • Manage medical emergencies and code situations effectively, including de-escalation techniques for potentially aggressive patients.

Essential Requirements and Qualifications

  • A valid National Police check conducted within the previous 12 months.
  • Ramsay may require a Working-With-Children check and proof of immunisation against infectious diseases for certain roles.
