Community Corrections is responsible for supervising adult offenders in the community.
It is divided into seven regions, each with district offices and reporting centres.
The staff aim to protect the community and reduce re-offending by supervising offenders and encouraging pro-social attitudes and behaviours.
In This Role You Will
Ensure supervision and monitoring of offenders on reparation and other orders, in accordance with legislation and practice guidelines.
Interact directly with offenders regarding reporting requirements and compliance.
Identify and respond to risks from offender management, liaising with management as needed.
Follow governance mechanisms to deliver compliance and support business improvement.
Provide timely advice to courts, boards, and agencies regarding offenders.
Administer contravention documentation for offenders, in consultation with Case Management Officers.
Contribute to case and sentence management activities.
Maintain professional report writing and case notes for internal and external stakeholders.
Develop relationships with service providers and the community to promote probation and parole services.
Conduct drug testing and maintain accurate statistics.
Prepare breach documentation accurately and promptly.
Perform duties as a Court officer.
Maintain security, accuracy, and access to case notes and reports.
Supervise offenders in community service and surveillance activities.
Build relationships with community groups, service sites, and providers.
Assist offenders with community service participation.
Conduct quality audits of offender caseloads and community service sites.
Work effectively within a small team, utilizing a broad skill set.
Demonstrate emotional resilience, especially in isolated communities.
Show commitment to the community, understanding remote protocols and multicultural profiles, and promote a positive image of QCS.
Applications remain current for 12 months.
