**The Role
**In this newly created role the Strategic Macro Space Manager is responsible for leading the optimisation of floor space within all Big W stores. The role combines deep analytic capability with strong commercial acumen to create stores that are aligned to our strategy, and meet the needs of the communities they serve.
They are responsible for optimising our space to maximise our customers experience, and deliver incremental sales and profitability. The role will work cross-functionally with key internal stakeholders, and the individual is recognised as a thought leader in this field

**Main Accountabilities;**
- Accountable for maximise the return on space for all new stores, renewal and strategic projects
- Responsible for evolving the Big W store blueprint and inclusion matrix ensuring alignment to our strategic goals and delivering a best in market customer experience
- Constantly improving all technical capabilities required to deliver a market leading Macro space capability
- Actively identify new opportunities for the business that will improve our use of space across our fleet
- Influence key Stakeholders to align with planning principles, space allocation approach, store flow and adjacencies by leading data rich conversations and becoming their trusted advisor
- Partner & collaborate deeply with Micro Space, Format Development, Operations and Commercial teams to deliver agreed priorities & projects on time
- Lead & develop the team, building capability and enable the team to deliver our ambition end to end across Big W while fostering a great team experience
- Actively contribute and participate in Group Strategic Space chapter
- Supporting the Head of Customer Space and ensure the teams are tightly integrated

**About You

- Extensive experience in leadership roles managing retail space
- Proven ability to deliver major transformation initiatives
- Deep technical & retail skill
- Proven track record working in an Agile environment
- High attention to detail and the tenacity to follow issues through to conclusion

- Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work autonomously and a passion for continuous improvement
