**Position Information**:
Liverpool Boys High School is a comprehensive boys school in the south west of Sydney. It has 515 students, 88% from a language background other than English representing nearly 60 cultural groups. The school values are Respect, Responsibility and Learning. The school slogan is "We Choose our Success" drawing on the key principles of choice, personalisation and achievement. The school has a strong commitment from staff to a culture of innovation including our vertical senior school, Project Based Learning and the Big Picture Education Australia academy. The school has received significant equity funding for many years. The school won the Australian Education Awards for Best Government Secondary School in 2019 and was a finalist in the 2020 awards for Principal of the year and Teacher of the year. In 2020 we also received the Excellence award for School of the Year and Curriculum Innovation of the Year for our Take Over project in partnership with the Sydney Opera House. The school has won the secretaries' award for outstanding school initiatives 6 years in a row. Over the next 3 years the school will merge with Liverpool Girls High School to become one co-ed school catering for up to 2000 students in a new build. This position will also lead the Learning and Support team.

**Demonstrated ability to manage complex student learning and wellbeing needs in collaboration with internal and external partners, using efficient methodologies to streamline practices.**
**Demonstrated ability to create, implement and evaluate sustainable, authentic and engaging well-being initiatives for students.**
**Demonstrated ability to build staff capacity to deliver wellbeing initiatives for students**
**Highly developed skills in coaching and mentoring staff to improve staff wellbeing within a dynamic environment.**
**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy
