As a Technical Advisor you will provide technical support to the Statutory and Technical Building Surveying team within the Office of the State Building Surveyor (OSBS). The team is responsible for gathering and recording on-site observations for review by a multi-disciplinary expert panel, who may provide recommendations for action by MBS, building owners and/or registered building practitioners. The role will provide technical knowledge and advice to support the team currently focusing on cladding rectification and other technical matters.
Under the direction of the MBS (VBA Delegate), the role will assist the team in the performance of their duties and ensure that all technical matters are appropriately triaged for further audit activity, consistent with a risk-based approach to regulation.
The role will assist in the preparation of Building Notices and Orders, attend site inspections and accurately convey to municipal building surveyors and other relevant stakeholders in a timely manner appropriate and accurate information.

- Demonstrated ability to analyse technical reports and provide high quality advice, and build and maintain relationships with a range of stakeholders, including the ability to negotiate strategic outcomes.
- Qualifications as a building surveyor is highly desirable.
