The role

Reporting to the Head of Risk Solutions, the Strategic Analyst will be responsible for providing actionable insights to drive strategic and commercial decision support for the business. The purpose of this role is to deliver analysis outcomes to inform decision-making, implement performance measurement frameworks and provide trend analysis and risk insights that identify risk innovation opportunities to mitigate and prevent risks for Commercial customers.

The Strategic Analyst will build business partnering relationships with various stakeholders across the business and prepare reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations on specific issues to senior leadership and other stakeholders. The key to your success will be your ability to effectively become the internal "storyteller", translating the story behind the data to communicate your findings and recommendations to inform decision-making.

How will I help?

A day in the role may look a bit like this;
- Responsible for the development, implementation and execution of the Risk Solutions reporting capability, data collection and analysis frameworks.
- Develop and implement measurement frameworks and appropriate key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor performance, costs, benefits and outcomes of risk intervention and deployed solutions.
- Develop and design new data and analytic solutions, designing, implementing, and supporting analytical outputs in various forms, from PowerPoint decks through to self-service and dashboards in PowerBI.
- Prepare reports and presentations for senior leadership and other stakeholders, generating Risk Solutions insights using quantitative and qualitative analysis, and conduct research and provide recommendations on specific issues.
- Develop, maintain and promote strong and effective relationships with key internal and external business stakeholders, vendors, suppliers and risk partners to ensure service delivery meets business expectations.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to obtain data, analysis and reporting requirements to develop data and reporting outputs that meet stakeholder requirements.
- Prepare and deliver reporting to business stakeholders, partners and customers.

What do I need?

To be successful you will have.
- Relevant tertiary level qualification (e.g. Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Actuarial Studies or equivalent).
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge in SQL, Excel, MS PowerBI or similar analysis and BI tools.
- Working knowledge of financial services (insurance, reinsurance and/or banking) preferred.
- Excellent communicator with strong facilitation, influencing and data storytelling skills.
- Ability to articulate highly technical concepts and insights, in a way that can be understood by stakeholders of varying degrees of technical literacy.
- Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent presentation skills - oral and written.
