
Accommodation Services Officer

The Accommodation Services Officer (ASO) provides support and oversight of offenders subject to Supervision Orders issued in accordance with the Dangerous Prisoners (Sexual Offenders) Act 2003.
The ASO's work a 24/7 roster and will monitor offenders' compliance with order conditions and accommodation requirements, in addition to providing support and encouragement to offenders to develop independent living skills to successfully reintegrate back into the community.
This talent pipeline is open for candidates to register their interest as an Accommodation Services Officer for various casual employment opportunities throughout the next 12 months. This workforce will engage in a diverse and dynamic range of activities, including engaging with offenders, monitoring the security and movement into the precinct and intervening to reduce the risk of incidents on the precinct. The primary goal is to maintain community safety whilst assisting offenders to develop skills to safely transition into the community successfully.

To be successful in this role, the ideal applicant will be someone who can demonstrate the following experience, knowledge and skills:

Governance - Knowledge, interpretation and application of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
Computer skills - Effectively use departmental computer systems for word processing, email, specialised programs, and internet and intranet functions.
Resilience - Demonstrates perseverance in achieving objectives and copes effectively with setbacks and problems.
Empathy and cultural awareness - Demonstrates an interest in and an appreciation and respect for a range of different cultures and actively seeks to understand and effectively engage with others.
Qualifications, Professional Registration, Conditions, And Other Requirements
Experience in a criminal justice environment, human services or other regulatory agency will be highly desired.
The incumbent will be required to undertake and successfully complete internal pre-service training and associated accreditations, and ongoing training and professional development relevant to the role.
Possession of C Class driver's license
This position involves shift work as the role supports the 24/7 monitoring of offenders in the community. Shift penalties apply.
