**Kitchen Assistant **role based in our residential aged care home in **Newcastle**
- **Permanent **Part time position, working 15:00 - 19:00 on a shift cycle which includes weekends.**
- **Salary packaging opportunities up to $15,900 per year**

Exciting Opportunity for a Kitchen Assistant to join our modern residential aged care home at Badcoe House in Newcastle. You'll spend your time cooking up some exciting and nutritious meals for our elderly residents €" they love their classic Aussie food and a freshly cooked breakfast

**The role will involve**:

- Preparation and cooking of various meals for 60 residents including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks
- Support the Head Chef with maintaining a clean kitchen and ordering supplies
- Complying with all infection control and safe food handling procedures
- Timely completion of all required documentation and reporting
- Liaising with our residents, their families, and the care team to create meal plans that our residents will enjoy.

**Skills and Experience **required**
- Level 3 or above Certificate in Commercial Cookery or equivalent
- Verifiable experience in the preparation and delivery of meals €" **this can be in a hospitality setting, such as a **café, **club, **or **pub**
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to solve problems independently
- An understanding of Resident Rights, Aged Care Accreditation Standards and Outcomes
- It is a mandatory requirement for a team member working in the Aged Care sector to have a valid Police Check or a valid National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) check, or potentially both, to undertake the inherent requirements of the role. Clearances must be verified prior to _commencing _employment with RSL _LifeCare _._
