About ITP Australia New Zealand
Immune Thrombocytopenia (ITP), also known as Immune or Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura, is a rare autoimmune condition where the immune system mistakenly attacks platelets, increasing the risk of bruising and bleeding.
ITP Australia and New Zealand (ITPANZ) is the leading patient organisation dedicated to supporting individuals and families living with ITP across both countries. We provide trusted information, resources, and advocacy to help patients, carers, and healthcare professionals navigate the challenges of this rare disease.
Through education, community support, and collaboration with national and international partners, ITPANZ works to raise awareness, improve access to treatments, and ensure that the patient voice is represented in research and policy discussions. Our initiatives include the Annual ITP Patient Conference, educational resources, clinical trial information, and advocacy at both local and global levels.
