**About the Award**: The Award assists young people to achieve goals, learn new skills and engage with their communities.
The Bridge Award program is an introductory program to The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award. The program is available to young people aged 111/2 to 25 years, introducing participants to new opportunities and activities. The programs are offered through Award Centres throughout the State including schools, community groups and clubs. About the Role: The Award Co-ordinator will contribute to the development and implementation of a high-quality youth leadership development program and help to support its growth in Queensland. Responsibilities include:
- Support a limited number of state schools to increase Award registrations and completions;
- Support existing award leaders (teachers) to streamline and improve processes and consolidate the Award operations within the school;
- Evaluate project outcomes and learnings;
- Promote and coordinate the exchange of ideas and program options between Award Leaders and volunteers to enhance delivery and sustainability of the award program;
- Support Award Leaders and volunteers to deliver the award by providing advice on program flexibility to ensure inclusivity and responsiveness to needs of students regardless of their circumstance, background and abilities;
- Support Award Leaders and Award Centres to effectively administer the award programs within their school and ensure best practice through effective Quality Assurance processes;
- Engage with schools and attend promotional events to highlight the benefits of the Award programs to schools and community organisation leaders, potential award leaders and volunteers, parents and students. Highly desirable skills include:
- skills and knowledge related to student wellbeing and engagement;
- strong written and verbal communication skills;
- the ability to research, develop and implement projects;
- an understanding of The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award and its delivery within the school system;
- ability to work autonomously and as part of a highly productive team;
- the ability to establish strong working relationships and network with a range of stakeholders. The Program Officer reports directly to the Manager, Queensland State Award Authority. How to Apply:
