We are looking for upcoming and aspirational Policy and/or Program Officers to join our new team and be a part of the journey we are undertaking within the Sector Workforce Strategy Directorate in the Early Childhood Outcomes Division._

**About our Division (ECO)**
The Early Childhood Outcomes (ECO) Division leads the delivery of the Early Childhood Education Initiatives, including comprehensive investments in the critical first 5 years of life for every child - in child development and in early education and care, making investments that support families and the community now, as well as investing in long term reforms for the future. Our work is focussed on attracting, retaining, growing and developing an engaged and valued Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) workforce to deliver high quality services for children and families in NSW.
**About the Sector Workforce Strategy Directorate**
Sector Workforce Strategy is one of five Directorates in the ECO Division. The Directorate's purpose is to attract, retain, grow and develop an engaged and valued ECEC workforce delivering high quality services for children and families in NSW.
Recently established and growing quickly, the Directorate has an ambitious forward program of work. We aim to work in partnership with the ECEC sector to ensure that children and families in NSW can access quality ECEC.
**About the Opportunity**
We have multiple Policy and Programs roles responsible for developing and implementing critical workforce projects to support the ECEC sector. Our work is focussed on attracting, retaining, growing, and developing an engaged and valued early childhood education workforce. These roles undertake research, analysis, design and implement complex workforce policy and reforms which aim to attract and retain an engaged ECEC workforce delivering high quality services for children and families in NSW.
These roles will be required to liaise across the Department of Education, NSW, state and commonwealth government agencies, non-government organisations, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander groups, regional communities and the private sector. These roles will allow you to work collaboratively and creatively to design and implement policy, programs and initiatives to support ongoing development of a high-quality and engaged ECEC workforce.

**To be successful in the roles, you will have**:
- Demonstrated experience in research, analysis, and advice to support delivery of policy initiatives and projects.
- An interest in skills, attraction, retention, workforce and community development to drive quality early years education and care
- A passion for Customer experience, continuous improvement and benefits realisation champion in a progressive environment
- Driven to collaborate, test and learn by seeking evidence and sharing ideas
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor communication to different audiences, including external stakeholders and senior executive.
- Early Childhood Education and Care sector experience and/or knowledge, which is not essential but highly valued
- Experience in one or more workforce/HR program areas, including strategic workforce planning, ER/IR, staff engagement, capability and skills frameworks, recruitment and retention, career pathways, workforce data, analytics and insights.
**Essential requirements of the role**
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or demonstrated equivalent knowledge and/or experience.
- A valid Working with Children Check for paid employment or ability to obtain a paid one once offered
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
**Key knowledge and experience**
- Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
