Sr Legal Counsel

Overview
The ideal Sr.
Counsel candidate will have demonstrated capabilities gained from working both with a law firm and in house.
The candidate will be knowledgeable in the energy industry in Australia, with a general understanding of AU law and the ASX Listing Rules (NYSE Listing Rules experience desirable).
The role will have responsibilities for general matters related to all legal aspects of funding and financing, commercial and marketing, project development, project construction and production operations.
You will report to and work closely with the General Counsel & Company Secretary, and will assist in ensuring compliance for legal, employee relations, corporate, governance and statutory matters, including assisting the General Counsel & Company Secretary with significant contractual agreements in commercial, financing and projects activity at the most senior levels in the group.
Responsibilities
Ensure delivery of legal services related to legal and reputational risk associated with daily operations, conduct or transactions, and managing external providers of legal services;
Act as a trusted advisor, strategist, and sounding board to Tamboran on legal matters, providing unique strategy perspectives on legal matters such as, and without limitation, project finance;
Assist in preparing, negotiating, drafting, reviewing, and settling contracts, agreements and legal documents, providing support to stakeholders throughout preparation of such agreements;
Provide oversight of legal matters, including contract law, relevant legislation and corporate governance principles, compliance, monitoring and reporting;
Provide general legal advice to management, including negotiating, reviewing and drafting agreements between professional advisors, third parties, employees and others;
Prepare, evaluate, and negotiate contractual agreements and advise management regarding legal risks to support sound decision-making of the Company;
Manage and mentor members of the legal team; and
Assist with other special projects as directed.
Preferred Minimum Candidate Requirements
Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice or equivalent is required
7+ years' experience in public companies and/or private practice with relevant work experience
Ability to work effectively with an executive management team as an advisor and leader is essential;
Ability to manage and mentor other legal team members;
Proven analytical and problem solving skills including the ability to recognise risks and offer innovative and commercial solutions;
Demonstrated ability to partner with internal and external stakeholders and outside legal entities to manage and deliver outcomes;
Highly developed ability to manage multiple tasks and to manage time effectively and to meet tight deadlines while maintaining work quality;
Proficient using Microsoft Office (Word) software
Excellent collaboration and diplomatic skills
Excellent written communication and public speaking skills
Knowledge of Australian onshore and international oil and gas operations
NYSE knowledge and experience.

The Company currently has a hybrid working model, with the reasonable expectation that employees are working in the office a minimum of 3 days/week.
This hybrid working model is subject to change to full time office work at Management's sole discretion.
