A team that values Collaboration, Mateship, Integrity, Safety & Innovation Genus is seeking an experienced Site-Based Civil Engineer to join our project delivery team in Merredin, WA, for the construction of the Merredin Battery Energy Storage System (BESS).
This is a significant renewable energy infrastructure project where we are acting as the BoP contractor, supporting our client, Atmos Renewables, in delivering a 100MW / 400MWh BESS.As the Civil Engineer, you will be responsible for the planning, coordination, and on-site management of all civil construction activities, with a key focus on overseeing the performance of the civil contractor.Key Responsibilities: Oversee all civil construction activities on-site, ensuring compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.
Manage the civil contractor's day-to-day operations and ensure adherence to project schedule and deliverables.
Lead civil QA/QC processes, inspections, and documentation.
Liaise closely with the broader project team including engineering, HSE, and client representatives.
Monitor progress and provide regular updates to the Project Manager.
Ensure all civil works are completed in accordance with design, budget, and timeline.
Skills and Experience Required: Minimum 7 years' experience in a Civil Engineer role working onsite.
Demonstrated experience managing civil contractors on construction sites, ideally within the renewable energy or infrastructure sectors.
Strong understanding of civil construction methodologies, QA/QC processes, and safety systems.
Ability to read and interpret civil drawings and specifications.
Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills Valid Driver's Licence Proficient skills in computers: MS Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook What We Offer: Opportunity to work on a high-profile renewable energy project.
