We have an exciting opportunity available for an experienced Operations & Resource Planning Manager to join our friendly and supportive team on a full-time basis based at Sydney Airport.

The Operations & Resource Planner Manager plays an integral role in managing labour assignment at the roster build stage including the assignment of training activities, while ensuring compliant rosters are achieved against industrial agreements.
In addition, the Manager will oversee the Operations & Resource Planning team, who publish roster requests through to the day of operation. Effective resource planning management is required to ensure cost effective solutions are being implemented through using best practice methodologies. You will be responsible for leading, coaching and developing the Operations & Resource Planning Team.
**In a nutshell, your main responsibilities are**:
- Manage labour requirements against roster publication cycles.
- Ensure all team members' training requirements are planned and rostered prior to reaching their expiry dates.
- Implement cost effective solutions with resource planning post-roster publication.
- Utilise a variety of systems to extract statistical and analytical data to demonstrate trends to the various stakeholders and customers.
- Analyse data and reports to create strategies on work volume and projected resource requirements.
- Liaise with labour hire agencies supporting ordering and hours invoiced.
- Compare pre and post roster publications against completed rosters. Identify trends and implement changes to meet the operational requirements.
- Ensure all resource allocations meet KPI requirements and resource plans, as set out by the Analytical Modelling & Strategy team and provide feedback to improve forecasting and developing plans for manpower requirements.
- Provide pathways to build team member capability, including training plans and mentoring.
- Actively demonstrate a fair, honest, open, and consistent approach to team leadership.
- Develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with stakeholders and customers.
- Contribute to a safety-first environment and work within Workplace Health and Safety policies, procedures, and guidelines at all times.
**What do you need to be successful in securing this role?**
- 5+ years' experience in a similar role within a large or complex rostering organisation.
- Experience working in a high-pressure operational environment.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Highly analytical approach to problem solving and implementing solutions.
- Strong Project Management focus with experience developing high-level strategic plans.
- Effective negotiation and influencing skills, with ability to handle challenging situations with tact and diplomacy.
- Experience in identifying problems and implementation of effective solutions.
- Financial management and budgeting experience or understanding.
- Ability to think logically, creatively, and have a business-focused approach.
- Exceptional communication and organisation skills.
- Ability to work with a diverse group of stakeholders in a high volume, high value environment.
- Exceptional leadership and people management skills.
- Experience in leading and developing teams to achieve specific outcomes.
