Chief Executive Role Overview
The Chief Executive is a strategic leadership position responsible for shaping the future of emergency services in South Australia, based in Adelaide.
This role involves close collaboration with the Minister for Emergency Services and Correctional Services to discharge legislative responsibilities and oversee the development and management of an effective Emergency Management Framework.
Key objectives include ensuring the allocation of resources within the emergency services sector, developing and maintaining strategic policy frameworks, risk management strategies, and systems that support sector improvements.
As an inspiring leader, the successful candidate will have relevant experience and expertise to support the Minister and other stakeholders in driving sector advancements and key capabilities such as Public Information and Warning Systems and the State Emergency Information Call Centre Capability.
Required qualifications include:
Relevant leadership experience in emergency management or a related field
Strong understanding of policy development, risk management, and resource allocation
Collaborative approach to stakeholder engagement and partnerships
Ability to inspire and motivate teams towards common goals
