A career at NQ offers a unique opportunity to succeed in a high-performance environment while enjoying a flexible work culture and directly contributing to the sustainability of netball in Queensland.The Queensland Firebirds Futures Academy (QFFA) is dedicated to supporting Queensland's most promising young netball talent, providing a pathway for nationally and locally identified athletes to achieve their netball ambitions and progress toward Suncorp Super Netball and Australian national team selection.We are seeking a QFFA Coach to play a pivotal role in identifying and developing emerging athletes across Queensland.
This position will deliver targeted, individualised coaching and development support, ensuring athletes receive the specialist guidance they need to succeed at the elite level.This role is offered as a part-time (19 hours per week) fixed-term contract.RESPONSIBILITIESQueensland Firebirds Futures Academy Program (under the direction of the Queensland Firebirds Head Coach)Design and deliver specialist coaching sessions and a periodised program with the Physical Performance CoachComplete athlete individual athlete performance plans (IAPPs) and review every 6 monthsMonitor through AMS the athlete's daily training environment that will contribute to the athlete's developmentIdentify, develop, and deliver or arrange targeted educational opportunities such as leadership, high-performance behaviours, cultural understanding, communication, social media, and wellbeingEstablish and maintain high-level communication with key stakeholders – Head of Talent and Development, NIN Coaching Group, 17s and 19s Queensland State Coaches, HPNL Coaches, and Performance Support StaffAttend meetings with, and follow guidelines outlined by, Netball Australia as requiredProgram and Coaching SupportProvide feedback to Academy Athletes involved in HPNL, State teams, and Super ReservesLiaise with HPNL Coaches to manage athlete loadCollaborate with the Physical Performance Coach on strength and conditioning prioritiesAssist coaches involved in State Teams and Super Reserves as requiredEstablish and maintain high-level communication with key stakeholdersABOUT YOUThe QFFA Coach requires the following qualifications and experience:Qualifications and ExperienceNCAS Elite / High Performance Coaching accreditation (or on the way towards)A minimum of 3 years coaching experience in an emerging, elite, or professional environmentDemonstrated success coaching elite, emerging, or professional teams and athletesDemonstrated experience in providing education and mentoring to developing athletesKnowledge and SkillsUnderstanding of developing high-performing athletesHigh-level skills in developing effective working relationships with elite coaches, athletes, and performance staff (including oral/written, negotiation, and consultation skills)Excellent written and verbal communication skillsUnderstanding of confidentiality, impartiality, and ethicsPersonal AttributesPeople-oriented: enjoys working with people and developing others to realize their potentialResults-focused: goal and task-oriented with a natural focus on performanceInitiative: driven to make things happen and energetically seeks to achieve goalsAutonomous: able to work independently and proactive in undertaking required tasksCollaborative: enjoys working as part of a team, values others' views and ideasResilient: possesses inner strength and resolve to cope with adversity and manage conflicts professionallyWHY WORK FOR NETBALL QUEENSLAND?
