About Us
Court Services Victoria provides corporate services and facilities to support the performance of the judicial, quasi-judicial and administrative functions of Victoria's courts and tribunal, Judicial College and Judicial Commission.
Collectively, Victoria's Supreme, County, Magistrates', Children's, and Coroners courts, the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT), the Judicial College of Victoria, the Judicial Commission of Victoria, and Court Services Victoria (CSV) are referred to as the 'Courts Group'.

About the Role
At Court Services Victoria (CSV), we are dedicated to fostering Aboriginal self-determination, cultural safety, and the inclusion of Koori voices in Victoria's Court system. As part of the Dhumba Murmuk Djerring Unit, you will play a key role in developing and implementing employment initiatives that directly contribute to these goals.
Reporting directly to the Director of Koori Employment and Cultural Strategy, you will collaborate with stakeholders across the courts, including Koori Elders, Respected Persons, and senior CSV leaders, to drive impactful cultural programs and recruitment strategies. Your work will ensure that cultural protocols are followed and that Koori Elders and Respected Persons have a meaningful role in the court system.
This position is crucial in ensuring CSV's cultural capability and inclusivity goals, making our courts safer and more accessible for Koori staff and community members.
**DutiesIn this role, you will be responsible for**:
- Leading the recruitment, engagement, and support of Koori Elders and Respected Persons, ensuring they are integrated into court processes and supported throughout their employment. Developing and implementing culturally appropriate recruitment strategies and onboarding programs to attract Koori talent across CSV. Collaborating with internal teams to review and update policies, including the Elders and Respected Persons Employee Resource Guide, to ensure cultural alignment. Managing relationships with key stakeholders, including Elders, Respected Persons, and community leaders, to foster strong partnerships and maintain cultural integrity. Contributing to workforce planning by collecting and analyzing data to forecast evolving needs within the Koori workforce.
About You / Skills and Experience
To succeed in this role, you will be someone who is passionate about supporting the Koori community and creating culturally safe workplaces. You will have the following skills and experience:
Proven experience working with the Victorian Koori community, particularly with Elders and Respected Persons, and an understanding of their unique cultural needs and aspirations.Experience in recruitment and employment program development, particularly with Koori identified roles, with the ability to manage the full employment lifecycle.Strong project management skills, with experience in delivering programs on time, while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, allowing you to build and maintain relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.Proficiency in administrative and corporate support tools, including PowerBi, Microsoft Office, and SharePoint.A tertiary qualification in a related field (such as human resources, social work, or Aboriginal studies) will be highly regarded but is not essential.
