About the roleSeveral permanent part-time opportunities are available for Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons in Surgical and Peri-operative Services at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital (RBWH) and Surgical Treatment and Rehabilitation Service (STARS).
The role involves providing clinical services, undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, and participating in research.
The position also requires involvement in the after-hours on-call roster.About youThe ideal candidate will be able to perform the following key responsibilities in accordance with Metro North Health's values:Collaborate with the Director of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery to ensure appropriate clinical management of patients, including developing and participating in audits, efficient use of operating theatres, outpatient clinic coordination, patient reviews, and adherence to clinical pathways and guidelines.Work within a multidisciplinary team to deliver clinical care to Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery patients.Provide leadership in clinical and service improvement activities, encouraging evaluation and innovative treatments to improve service outcomes.Perform a range of elective, semi-elective, and emergency surgeries on Plastic Surgery patients.Health EquityAll Metro North Health staff are expected to contribute to the health equity agenda, supporting actions that meet the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, including eliminating discrimination, increasing access to healthcare, addressing social determinants of health, and delivering culturally safe and responsive services.
