My Gateway has been employing apprentices and trainees across NSW for over 40 years. We employ over 250 apprentices and trainees across areas such as business administration, information technology, construction, electrical, horticulture, heavy vehicle and engineering.

**About the Opportunity**:
Working alongside our Senior Payroll Officer, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely payroll processing and associated tasks of approximately 200 staff; comprising of staff, directors, apprentices, trainees and labour hire employees.
- Responsible for payroll processing of all apprentices, trainees and labour hire in an accurate, compliant and timely manner.
- Assist with the fortnightly payroll of staff and directors as required.
- Calculation of and processing termination / Graduation payments.
- Calculation of and processing rate changes for apprentices/ trainees.
- Assist with adjusting wage rates, including corresponding with both host and employee regarding the changes within expected time frames.
- New starters to be entered accurately into payroll system and all appropriate paperwork obtained, including all tax and legislative requirements.
- Correspondence to the host where required in conjunction with Payroll Compliance Coordinator
- Apprentices & Trainees Long Service Leave register accurately maintained
- Interpretation and implementation of relevant Modern Awards and EBA's
- Provide assistance to the Payroll Compliance Coordinator as required.
- Assist with End of Financial Year processing.
- PIAWE calculations and Worker's Compensation payment processing.
- Assist with the calculation and processing of year rate changes.
- Calculation and processing of competency based progressions.
- Maintaining payroll operations by following policies and procedures.
- Resolving payroll discrepancies.
- Support all external audit related to payroll

**Your Background**:

- At least 3 years' experience in a similar role
- Ability to prioritize and organize to meet all deadlines
- Ability to remain confidential.
- Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal to interact with host employers, apprentices and trainees.
- Strong literacy skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work in a team and independently.
- Problem analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Astute and/or WorkForce experience isn't essential however, it would be a distinct advantage.
