**Client**:
Global Engineering and Manufacturing company that creates unique engineering solutions for the Mining, Marine and Oil and Gas tech markets.

They design and build a wide range of products (industrial special-purpose machinery). They have a couple of sites across the country and are looking to hire a Plant Production Manager.

**Job**:
Operating within a Lean environment, they focus on continuous improvement/kaizen methodologies and quality improvement. Within this position you will be required to manage a production team of 20 + (direct/indirect), driving and facilitating teamwork, and personal and team development to better improve morale and achieve the production KPI's set by the Engineering Manager. The position would suit an individual with excellent planning and project management skills. Applicants must have experience gaining and rolling out International Standard Certifications - ISO's.

**Duties**:

- Conducting daily meetings to support and oversee all system requirements in relation to the Production process at the facility
- Drive manufacturing and production processes so the plant runs reliably and efficiently
- Direct responsibility and leadership of the Production Team, currently at 25, but numbers can increase during busy periods with contract and labour
- Work with Production and Maintenance Planners to organise daily and weekly production schedules, forecasting, estimate costs, negotiate and project resource requirements
- Provide engineering advice, Lean methodologies, continuous improvement
- Occasional hands-on maintenance and fault-find repair experience
- Manage the team effectively through coaching, and training of employees to required levels in: Safety. Quality, production, Lean, Delivery & Cost Control
- Manage and monitor your own and team KPI's
- Help to implement and monitor strategies to reduce staff turnover
- Understand safety systems and be responsible for driving a safety-first culture
- Manage all work packs, ensure delivery of all products meet the customer deadline dates
- Full working rights in Australia
- TAFE / Degree and 5 years of production or manufacturing management experience, someone that's worked their way up from the tools would be a bonus as they'd understand fabrication aspects
- 5 years' previous experience in Production Planning
- Strong continuous improvement / Kaizen experience
- A sound understanding of engineering principles and practice
- Ability to read engineering designs and drawings
- Knowledge of OH&S Standards
- Ability to build effective teams and manage people
- Strong communication and planning skills
- Show high levels of Emotional Intelligence

**Salary**:
Our client offers competitive remuneration packages, but they vary with regard to experience. Looking at this position depending on your level of experience between $125,000 to $135,000 base salary + super + bonus.
