**About the role**

McIlwain are seeking a Leading Hand to work with and lead our work crew on a construction project near Aratula.

**Duties**
- Supervise subcontractor activity.
- Ensure all tasks are completed in line with safe systems of works.
- Carry out manual excavation.
- Level earth and road pavements to specified grades and tolerances.
- Mixes concrete and place, level and finish freshly poured concrete.
- Completes quality check forms.
- Inspect, check, and verify material deliveries to site.
- Use handheld tools such as shovels, rakes, crowbars, brooms, cold chisels etc.

**Skills & experience**
- 2+ years of experience as a leading hand, ideally on DTMR projects.
- Certificate III in Civil Construction.
- Current Drivers Licence.
- White Card.
