Overview
Join Metro South Health as a Nurse Unit Manager and lead Stradbroke Ward in delivering safe, person-centred care. You'll oversee clinical standards, workforce management, and quality initiatives, making a real impact on patient outcomes and staff development across Bayside Health Service.
Your New Role
We are seeking a dynamic nursing leader to manage Stradbroke Ward, a 34-bed medical and surgical unit providing care in specialties including general surgery, gynaecology, orthopaedics, general medicine, and palliative care. As Nurse Unit Manager, you will be accountable for delivering safe, high-quality patient care while overseeing people, budget, and operational management.
Key Responsibilities
Provide advanced clinical leadership and direction to achieve high-quality, person-centred care.
Lead and manage a team of over 38 FTE nursing and support staff, ensuring effective resource allocation and workforce planning.
Drive quality improvement, risk management, and adherence to clinical governance frameworks.

You Will Bring
Proven experience leading surgical/medical units, including HR, rostering, and budget management.
Advanced clinical knowledge and skills in surgical and medical nursing, with demonstrated problem-solving expertise.
Strong communication and leadership skills to inspire, mentor, and build team cohesion.
