We are seeking a capable Vehicle Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at the Nauru Regional Processing Centre.

**About the Role**
In your role as a Vehicle Maintenance Supervisor, you will oversee maintenance and repairs of light and heavy vehicles and plant including generators, cranes, excavators, telehandlers, EWP's and forklifts. Our team consists of light vehicle mechanics, diesel generator mechanics, diesel fitters, auto electricians, mechanical fitters, crane mechanics and local trade assistants at the Nauru Regional Processing Facility.

**General Duties include but are not limited to**:

- build and maintain a productive working relationship with team members, and stakeholders
- manage a team of diesel generator mechanics, diesel fitters, auto electricians, mechanical fitters, crane mechanics and local trade assistants
- resolve problems and perform necessary maintenance
- prepare weekly maintenance schedules and allocate work as per forecasted workloads
- supervise and train relevant workers
- oversee all repairs and ensure that work is completed on time
- maintain all inventory and equipment, and ensure proper storage
- conduct preventative maintenance work
- conduct safety inspections as scheduled
- work in collaboration with other service lines to ensure safety and best practice
- respond to emergency situations appropriately according to reporting procedures
- attend regular training and refresher sessions to maintain skills and qualifications including but not limited to cultural awareness, mental health, CPR and first aid

**To be successful in this role you will have**:

- high level of cross-cultural communication skills
- experience working cross culturally with complex clients
- willingness and ability to undertake induction training, work and live in a hot tropical environment on Nauru
- social responsibility with the highest standards of personal honesty and integrity
- 2 years of experience as a maintenance supervisor or manager(essential)
- trade Qualifications preferred but not essential
- strong knowledge of mechanical maintenance
- solid understanding of health and safety regulations and practices
- effective budgeting and performance management
- possess strong organisational and leadership skills
- great eye for detail
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- sound level of fitness
- experience in a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) MEX and similar program - essential
- working with children certification
- undertake, pass and maintain an Australian Federal Police check (this will be arranged by MTC)
- undertake, pass and maintain a full physical and health assessment (initial assessment will be arranged by MTC)
- evidence that you are vaccinated against COVID -19 (double vaccinated) plus one booster with a vaccine recognised in Australia
