**Overview of the role**
An exciting opportunity exists for someone with a background in claims handling who has assessment experience, technical skills and an ability to coach and mentor assessors.
Furthermore, they are also engaged to support change initiatives, claim reviews and audit functions and work alongside key stakeholders Australian Super and their insurer.
**This is a permanent full time role that would suit a Senior or experienced Claims Assessor ready to take that next step and allows for flexible/hybrid working conditions.
**Key Accountabilities and Main Responsibilities**
- Ability to coach and mentor both existing and new starters assessors as they progress through their delegated authority limits.
- Being a point of contact for any technical or adhoc queries from the Assessments department.
- Reviewing claims and providing verbal and written feedback to both new and existing assessors to assist with their learning and development.
- Providing written claim reviews of escalated, ageing and complex claims to achieve timely outcomes for members.
- Delivery of training and workshop uplift sessions to the department.
- Analysing and Identify trends and recommending viable solutions.
**Experience & Personal Attributes**
- Demonstrated assessment skills including advanced knowledge of product and policy, medical, claim audit functions, system and legislation impacting the life insurance industry.
- Prior experience in training, mentoring and coaching assessors with an ability to motivate and provide constructive feedback in a learning environment.
- A problem solver with an ability to look at claims from a different perspective and drive for quality assessment outcomes that benefit members.
- Thorough experience of group or retail insurance products.
- Strong time management with the ability to co-ordinate multiple activities at any given time
- Impeccable written and verbal competency with the capacity to deal with differing personality types and skill levels.
