Sydney, New South Wales, Australia University Of New South Wales Full time

**Job no**: 531511
**Work type**: Full Time
**Location**: Sydney, NSW
**Categories**: Project Management
- Employment Type: Full Time Permanent
- Remuneration: $100,354 + 17% superannuation
- Location: Kensington UNSW Campus

**About this role and why it matters**

The UNSW Division of Societal Impact, Equity and Engagement (DSIEE) leads UNSW's efforts to make a positive and lasting impact on society, promoting equity and social justice, and driving engagement activities which enhance UNSW's reputation as a key contributor to society through its research, teaching, and community engagement.

The Diversity and Inclusion Coordinator provides project coordination and administrative support to projects and initiatives that progress an inclusive culture at UNSW for staff and students. The role will work in collaboration with the Diversity & Inclusion team to actively support and contribute to the realisation of strategic priorities through providing governance support to select working groups, proactively managing workflow priorities, and monitoring progress against milestones, managing inquiries and general correspondence, coordinating communications and acting as a key point of liaison with relevant stakeholders for event and training logistics. This is a new role, within a relatively newly set-up team, so an exciting time to join.

This role reports to the Manager, Diversity & Inclusion and has no direct reports.

**Main overall responsibilities Summary**
- Provide practical and proactive support for the coordination of administrative functions inside and outside the division for diversity and inclusion strategies, programs, training, events and reporting
- Monitor, track and report on the status of project schedules, milestones and deliverables, assess and monitor project risks and issues and provide solutions where applicable
- Support the delivery of on-campus and online events through preparation of event documentation and risk assessment tools and coordinating suppliers, venues and logistics
- Contribute to work area and project administration, including the coordination of meetings, establishing meeting schedules, agendas, dissemination of minutes and tracking of actions, and monitoring workflow priorities for the Director, Diversity and Inclusion
- Maintain an awareness of diversity issues and trends, manage inquiries, liaise with external contractors and draft communications
- Monitor the shared inbox and respond to general enquiries from internal and external stakeholders, triaging where appropriate

**Who You Are**

We are looking for someone who is aligned with UNSW's vision and values, who is highly organised and who comes equipped with:

- Previous experience working on multiple projects, with the ability to deal with multiple tasks, establishing priorities and keeping people on track
- Previous experience working in a large and complex organisation and dealing with multiple stakeholders at all levels
- Previous work experience in the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion space is not essential, but would be highly regarded
- Excellent attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and productively within a team, but also to take initiative and work independently while managing competing demands.

Whilst this role sits within the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion team, this role is more about supporting the projects and the team, rather than having an input and contributing to strategy or project themselves. The first few months of this role especially will be highly administrative - so you'd have to be comfortable with more repetitive tasks. Working hours are Monday to Friday, business hours. The team works on a hybrid basis.

**Closing date: 30 April 5PM**

Applications cannot be accepted if sent directly to the contact listed.
- UNSW is committed to equity diversity and inclusion. Applications from women, people of culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, those living with disabilities, members of the LGBTIQ+ community; and people of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander descent, are encouraged. UNSW provides workplace adjustments for people with disability, and access to flexible work options for eligible staff. The University reserves the right not to proceed with any appointment._
