This is a permanent, full-time opportunity that can be based in Canberra (preferred), Melbourne or Brisbane. The successful candidate must be eligible for an AGSVA Security clearance.
The Opportunity
The Project Controller plays a crucial role in ensuring the successful planning, execution, and monitoring of large and complex projects within the assigned operating unit. They are responsible for the establishment and maintenance of project control systems, including complex cost, schedule, and risk management. This position requires a highly analytical and organized professional with strong attention to detail and the ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain project budgets.
Track project expenditures and identify variances.
Prepare cost reports and forecasts.
Recommend corrective actions to keep projects on budget.
Manage Workforce Plans including updates based on actuals and forecasting resource requirements.
Timesheet administration including reviewing for accuracy and input into SAP.
Support Accounts Payable and Receivable processes.
Prepare and submit Monthly Accruals.
Manage client Monthly Financial Reporting including preparing estimates, forecasting, and providing input into Monthly Project Status Reports.
Management of Project WBS elements including reporting on revenue and cost variations.
Assist in Bid Estimation and Pricing Schedule processes for Contract changes.
Ensure all project documents are organised and accessible and maintain version control and document distribution.
Support project audits.
Prepare regular project status reports for management and analyse project performance data to provide insights.
Assist in the preparation of project change orders and claims.
Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to gather data and ensure project control accuracy.
Communicate project control issues and recommendations effectively.
Stay up-to-date with best practices in project controls and identify opportunities for process improvement.
Qualifications, Skills And Experience
Bachelor's degree or certification in a related field (desirable).
Minimum 5 years project accounting / finance business partner experience.
Proven Control Account Management experience monitoring and controlling actual control account performance against budgets & forecasts.
Proven experience with EACs and revenue recognition in line with percent complete.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Well-developed communication and time management skills.
Attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics, Power BI and Defence industry will be highly regarded.
AGSVA security clearance (minimum Baseline).
