**Key responsibilities of this role**:
- Gain a sound understanding of the legislative requirements and Departmental policies regarding the collection and management of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural heritage information under Part 5 of the Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Act 2003 and the Torres Strait Islander Cultural Heritage Act 2003.
- Review and collate data for entry in the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural heritage database and register through the Department's Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural heritage online portal.
- Process cultural heritage search requests from land users through the Department's online portal.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders in relation to the cultural heritage database and register and access to the Department's online portal.
- Assist with the preparation of training and educational materials regarding the operation and management of the database and register.
- Provide administrative and other assistance to the Cultural Heritage Unit as required.
- Undertake any necessary training or professional development requirements associated with the role.
- All staff are responsible for identifying, managing and reporting risks relating to their work with the department.
