We are a locally owned independent optical practice in Ivanhoe who has provided friendly, professional, and personalized eyecare service for over 20 years. We are currently looking for an experienced Optical assistant / receptionist to join our team on a full time or part-time basis. We have available approximately 20- 35 hours.
We are looking for someone who:

- has a passion for providing the highest quality customer care
- has experience in reception/customer service preferably in an optical environment (optical dispensing skills highly regarded)
- has excellent computer skills and can quickly learn new systems.
- has experience with Medicare online claiming and HICAPS
- has excellent verbal and written skills with strong attention to detail
- is able to build rapport & adopt good interpersonal skills when dealing with customers
- has experience working effectively in a team environment as well as autonomously
- has great Initiative, is punctual, reliable, and well presented.
- has the flexibility to cover leave for other staff when required.

**Responsibilities**:
General retail administration including but not limited to ordering, accounts payable and receivable, sales including processing Health fund payments, appointment, and patient card management.
Offer exceptional customer service and ensure customer satisfaction.
Assisting customers in selecting frames, advising them on the latest fashion trends.
General housekeeping.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $28.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 19 - 25 per week
