This is a OO2 progression position as per the Role Description. The successful applicant will be appointed to the OO2 classification with eligibility for progression to the OO3 level once specific criteria have been met. Please note salary rate shown is reflective of OO2 to OO3 classification range.

**About Us**:
Kilkivan State School is a small rural Prep to Year 10 school, situated a short drive west of Gympie. We have with a long history dating back to 1876, including students who have had family members enrolled for 6 generations.

**About the Role**:
Responsibilities include, but not limited to;
- Care/feeding and watering of livestock (including during school vacation periods) and compliance with animal ethics authorities;
- Planting, watering and care of crops/ pastures (including during school vacation periods)
- Maintain store rooms, sheds and field laboratories in a functional, safe and orderly manner;
- Collect and / or receive deliveries of agriculture materials, unpack, check invoices and appropriately store.
- Monitor petrol, LP Gas and agriculture products and associated supplies and prepare requisitions.
- The Agricultural Assistant is expected to perform duties to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the agricultural systems and support the Agricultural Science teacher and Cattle Club program during practical components of the learning.

Highly desirable skills and experience;
- Experience and competence working with cattle
- Knowledge of the beef industry
- Knowledge and experience in showing cattle
- Recognise workplace, health and safety concerns and report to their supervisor
