About Our Role
We are seeking an Agricultural Specialist to join our team. As an agricultural specialist, you will play a crucial role in helping us develop and implement effective farming strategies.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of soil media, fertilizer, and chemicals. You will be responsible for examining topographical, physical, and soil characteristics of farmland to determine its most effective use and identify nutrient deficiencies.
Your duties will include assisting in developing new methods of planting, fertilizing, harvesting, and processing crops to achieve optimum land usage. You will also be responsible for identifying pathogenic micro-organisms and insects, parasites, fungi, and weeds harmful to crops, and assist in devising methods of control.
In addition, you will analyze produce to set and maintain standards of quality. You will collect and collate data for research and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders. Your ability to work autonomously as well as in team environments will be essential to your success in this role.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- At least three years relevant experience.
- Strong knowledge of soil media, fertilizer, and chemicals.
- Ability to communicate effectively across a variety of mediums.
- Ability to build strong relationships with the client base.
