**About the Role**:
Reporting to Senior Manager Flood and Drainage Strategy, this is a pivotal role within the Services Strategy Team. As the Manager Strategic Flood & Drainage Planning you will be responsible for leading flood and drainage planning to ensure the strategic and policy intent is translated into the business to enable delivery of agreed service outcomes and drive performance of the service. This role builds adaptive plans and takes into consideration the external and internal environment.
- Develop adaptive plans for catchment scale flood plans and provide an integrated 5-50+ year view of the infrastructure and non-infrastructure needs within the region to deliver Melbourne Water's (MW) vision.
- Lead coordination of MW goals related to flood and drainage strategy.
- Lead a strategic collaborative practice to annually review performance, of the flood management Strategy, and to guide decision making with the view of the next 10-20 years and beyond.
- Promote the flood and drainage adaptive plans internally and externally to ensure achievement of objectives and outcomes. This will include leading internal and external stakeholder conversations across various industry workshops to build partnerships and deliver on our strategy objectives.
- Collaborate and work closely with the flood and drainage management group to enable efficient delivery of agreed service outcomes and drive performance of all services.

**About you**:

- Sound knowledge of flood and drainage infrastructure and non-infrastructure.
- Extensive experience in leading strategic plans for flood and drainage management.
- Strong understanding of current best practice in flood and drainage management.
- Experience establishing and fostering strong, trusting relationships with customers and stakeholders to broaden and enhance collaborative approaches to effective interventions.
- Demonstrated experience in translating high level strategy and policy into practical directions, guidance, projects, and programs of work.
- Demonstrated high level of financial and commercial acumen.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in engineering, science, urban planning, or economics (or similar).
