We currently have an exciting opportunity for a **Waste Water Operator** to join our team in **Tingalpa **on a **full-time permanent** basis, on a rotating continental shift pattern.
Reporting to the Environmental Manager, this role is critical to the operational success of our Waste Water Treatment Plant. Your primarily responsibility in this role is to ensure that waste water discharged from the site is meetings the local regulations standards.
**You Will Be**:
- Water testing; Maintaining the plant in a clean, safe and efficient state at all times.
- Keeping track and ordering of chemical supplies; Undertaking the first level problem solving and diagnostic for plant faults.
- Calibration of critical instruments.
- Maximise water recycle to meeting site targets.
- Liaison with manufacturing to reduce site water consumption.
- Ensure flexibility in supporting site departments to meet site Resource Conservation Targets and Goals.
- Conduct site water audits and provide feedback to ensure KPI's are achieved.
- Work with the companies support team to ensure the Waste Water Recycle plant is operational and recycles water pack to the plant to reduce the demand on Potable water.
- Demonstrate and exercise a commitment to promote, develop and improve the health, safety and welfare of our people.
- Undertake all duties in accordance with company environmental policies and procedures and support continual improvement in environmental systems and performance as outlined in annual plans.
**Qualifications/Requirements**:
**You Will Have**:
- Demonstrated ability to plan and coordinate several simultaneous work activities.
- Proven ability to analyse issues and to develop effective solutions.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Continuous improvement and modern process control techniques.
- Knowledge of Food safety, HACCP and HAZOP principles and practices.
- Knowledge of OH&S principles, practices and regulations.
- Knowledge of trade waste regulations and guidelines.
- Knowledge of EPA regulations and guidelines.
- Knowledge of recycled and drinking water regulations and guidelines.
- Demonstrated experience in operating advanced water treatment equipment.
