About the role
As Assistant Project Manager/Project Officer you'll be responsible for assisting senior project managers in planning, organising, and overseeing projects by developing timelines, coordinating tasks, monitoring progress, communicating with team members, and identifying potential risks, all while working under close supervision to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
What you'll be doing day-to-day
Project Planning and Documentation: Helping to develop and implement project plans, timelines, and budgets, as well as creating and maintaining project documentation and records.
Task Management and Communication: Assigning tasks to team members, tracking their progress, and facilitating communication between team members, stakeholders, and clients.
Performance Monitoring and Risk Management: Monitoring project performance against key metrics, identifying and escalating potential risks and issues, and assisting in the preparation of project reports and presentations.
Resource and Quality Management: Supporting the project manager in resource allocation and management, contributing to WHSE, quality control, ensuring project deliverables meet standards, and updating project databases with order progression.
External Contractor Management: Managing external contractors to ensure project goals are met.
What you'll bring to this role
Preferred:
A Tertiary qualification or equivalent work experience
Good attention to detail, Persistent, eliminates roadblocks and utilises resources to get things done.
Excellent organisation skills and the ability to manage and meet competing deadlines.
Experience and knowledge in Telecommunications fibre network deployment.
(Telstra Standards and Optical Fibre Civil construction experience will be highly regarded)
Mandatory:
Previous experience in a Telecommunications Service Delivery or Projectised environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Good Computer Skills , Microsoft Office Suite , Project Management Information Systems
Organisation skills and the ability to manage and meet competing deadlines.
Confident managing stakeholders at all levels and negotiate or navigate to seek resolution
Ability to liaise with all areas of the business
Understanding of Telecommunications industry regulations.
(Telco Act)
Ability to interpret plans, relevant legislation and LGA regulations.
Ability to analyse problems and seek solutions.
Self-Directing and willing to learn
