Elite Men's Referee Development Position

The role of Elite Men's Referee Developer is a part-time, fixed-term position that contributes to the education, development, and world-class performance of referees within the A-League Men's Panel & Football Australia competitions.

A key focus will be on building relationships and providing an environment where individual officials can develop their technical knowledge and officiating skills towards the Elite Men's Refereeing Panel, A-Leagues, and Football Australia Competitions.

Working in conjunction with the Head of and GM Elite Refereeing, this role will support program strategy, leadership on elements within the program, and deliver high-quality mentoring to promote selection of panel members to Australian Professional Leagues, Football Australia Competitions, Asian Football Confederation, and FIFA Women's Match Official Programs.

This role involves facilitating and supporting the progression and enhancement of referees in the ALM Elite Refereeing Program and Football Australia Competitions. It requires providing targeted mentoring strategies based on observations and observer assessments, presenting leadership to panel members, promoting the Football Australia Elite Refereeing Philosophy and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities also include understanding worldwide trends in referee development and applying world-class practice, promoting a supportive atmosphere within the panel and department, enabling adaptation to evolving challenges, and supporting actions and initiatives that promote world-class refereeing standards in A-Leagues and Football Australia competitions.

Key Requirements:

Proven track record as a referee at A-League level
">
Ability to lead, inspire, and develop elite officials
">
Performance assessment capacity to inform mentoring and development
">
Ability to engage with diverse stakeholders and provide constructive feedback
">
Adaptability to evolving trends and upholding Football Australia values
">
FIFA Referee/Assistant Referee (desirable)
">
FIFA/Asian Confederation Assessor or Instructor (desirable)
">

Additional Requirements:
">
Full working rights in Australia, working with children check or equivalent, international criminal history record for countries resided in for 12 months or more in the last 10 years (if applicable), and out-of-hours and weekend work as required.
