These assets are supported by Harmony Australasia corporate office located in Milton, Brisbane.Join Hidden Valley Mine located in PNG, as a Technical Specialist - Drills & Diggers, providing expert technical advice and hands on coaching of the national workforce in the maintenance and repair of all excavators and drills as part of the open pit fleet, while ensuring health, safety environmental and community relations standards are set and maintained by both Hidden Valley and contracted employees.This opportunity is an expatriate opening working a 16/12 day FIFO roster from/to Australia.Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, your responsibilities include:Safety & Environmental Management of risks and hazards in your workplace to ensure no incidents and to achieve 100% compliance of all Safety & Environmental requirements.Show commitment to build relationships for open communication with operations management to maximise production achievements.Work with Maintenance Team to ensure Safety KPI targets are achieved.
Provide all necessary internal and external reports on safety and environmental compliance, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.Attend regular area Maintenance Meetings to review equipment performance, develop remedial actions as required and develop improvement plans for cost and reliability.
Meeting minutes must be recorded and contain a list of responsible persons and timeliness for action.Provide guidance direction and coaching to the maintenance personnel and provide opportunities for continuous improvement.Ensure the departments long-term targets are understood and achieved.Address technical issues on the equipment and carry daily inspection to a high standard to ensure defects are identified prior to failure.Provide the resources and estimates needed to plan and schedule the defects into Pronto and make sure they are executed prior to failure.Ensure environmental controls are given consideration to perform tasks related to inspection, planned / unplanned maintenance events.Provide technical support to Diggers & Drills Supervisors to ensure they understand the shift priorities and can direct the team as needed.Confirm return flights to site are true and accurate prior to departing for Field Break to ensure sufficient manning.About YouTo succeed, you will be a trade qualified heavy diesel fitter and have 7+ years' experience on large scale open pit mine.
Experience working in developing countries and experience working on Komatsu heavy mobile mining equipment will be highly regarded.
