At ANZ our purpose is to shape a world where people and communities thrive and to achieve this, we need a talented DevOps Engineering Chapter Lead to join our Business Platform Services team. The team is known as the engine room and is charged with delivering always available Identity and Access Management services, as well as business API's in order to provide an outstanding uninterrupted customer experience 24/7.

With engineering responsibilities comprising 70% of your role, your remaining time will be spent coaching and nurturing the capability of your team as a Chapter Lead. As a Chapter Lead you will be responsible for building up the capability of your chapter (team) and improving the way we work. Success in this role will come from helping your team members thrive. You will achieve this by living the ANZ values, role modelling the right leadership behaviours, and providing the information and support your chapter members need to ensure they are inspired by a sense of purpose and continually building their mastery and autonomy.

What a typical day might look like

Leading the DevOps Engineering Chapter (team) that designs and builds patterns and solutions that enable other teams to deliver quality outcomes using self service capabilities
Develop the capabilities of the chapter members and ensure the team are fully across the latest technology developments. This may vary from formal growth plans to informal coffee catch ups
Provide thought leadership to the chapter and help set the strategic direction. This may include contributing to enterprise standards and practices in the DevOps space as well as to the greater tribe and beyond

What will likely be in your toolkit?

Mastery of Cloud technologies, particularly around containerisation using both GKE and Red Hat Openshift
Mastery of CI/CD technologies including but not limited to Github, Bamboo, Codefresh, Artifactory and Udeploy
Experience with vulnerability management and detection tools such as Blackduck, Checkmarx, Sonarqube and Twistlock
Experience with vulnerability applicability assessments
Solid working knowledge of network technologies including firewall and load balancer configurations
Solid working knowledge of Database technologies including Oracle, Postgres and MySQL
Unit testing and unit testing frameworks
Goog understanding of Identity and Access Management services
Good understanding of RESTful web services
Good understanding of security setup for web services - OAUTH, Basic Auth etc
Strong leadership and people management experience
Ability to learn, inspire and teach others
Demonstrated ability to engineer solutions on public using the latest CI/CD and DevOps technologies
Professional level public cloud certifications (ideally GCP but AWS considered)
A proven track record of driving, advocating and role-modelling a continuous improvement & automation culture
Strategic thinking - the ability to challenge the norm and inspire others to work towards a common goal
Passion Agile, with a demonstrated ability to inspire and teach others
