Behavioural Therapy Assistant - Newcastle

The Lizard Centre is expanding into Newcastle, building a new team of Therapy Assistants to work with children and families.
The Lizard Centre has been a leader in Applied Behaviour Analysis, Positive Behaviour Support and early intervention in Australia for over 20 years, empowering children with autism and developmental delay to live their best lives.
As part of the Nextt Group, opportunities for additional shifts as a Disability Support Worker in the Newcastle area may be available.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 therapy to clients in varied settings (home, clinic, school) under the guidance and supervision of a Therapy Supervisor (CBA/BCBA).
Support clients in developing skills in communication, social interactions and emotional regulation.
Collect client data to track progress and identify areas of improvement.
Foster a positive environment that encourages client participation.
Qualifications & Experience
Studying or completed a Degree/Certificate in Psychology, Disability, Education, Occupational Therapy or related field (preferred).
Experience working with children is highly desirable.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Working with Children Check & NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willing to obtain)
NDIS Worker Orientation Module - 'Quality, Safety and You'
Full Australian Driver's License & Vehicle, current car registration and comprehensive car insurance
Laptop/iPad - you will be using your own device on shift
To be eligible for Disability Support Worker shifts, you must meet one of the following minimum requirements:
Hold a minimum of Certificate III in a relevant qualification (such as Individual Support, Aged Care, Community Services, or Disability) and have completed your placement.
Have at least six months of paid experience as a Disability Support Worker (volunteer work or caring for family members is not included in this requirement).
