About the Role:
Verifact Traffic is seeking a suitably qualified Safety Officer to join our team with an immediate start. This role will support the Verifact Group and is required to confidently work autonomously as well as part of a team. The successful applicant will be offered a full-time permanent position with occasional travel throughout South-East Queensland required.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, you will hold responsibility for setting and maintaining safety standards across Verifact.

In particular, focus areas will include:
- Assist in the implementation of WHS procedures
- Oversee & coordinate implementations of safety initiatives including risk assessments, hazard identification and review, workplace inspections and audits etc.
- Review and monitor SWMS
- Conduct workplace/ site audits
- Oversee general site safety
- Work with site teams and contractors to eliminate and reduce workplace risks
- Investigation of incidents and hazard management
- Provide support and advice on HSE practices, systems and procedures
- Conduct return to work coordinator activities
- Attend regular safety toolbox meetings
- Promote a safe working environment

About You:
To be successful in this role you will have:

- Return to work qualifications
- A minimum of Certificate IV in WHS or equivalent
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (desirable)
- Previous experience in injury management preferred
- Clear and effective communication
- Strong attention to detail with sound administration and organisation skills
- Strong work ethic, able to independently manage workloads and work cooperatively in a team environment

**Salary**: From $100,000.00 per year
