Sustainable Design Lead, APAC
We are currently on the lookout for the most passionate, enthusiastic and initiative-driven design to spearhead our sustainability aspirations directly related to our projects across APAC. We're open to this role being in our Brisbane or Sydney studio.

In this role, our new Sustainable Design Lead, APAC, will work hand-in-hand with all our team members to lead and manage the development, delivery, and maintenance of our Sustainable Design Guide, requirements and standards across our APAC projects. This ranges from: driving sustainable design excellence on projects; progressing high level conceptual project strategies; coaching and mentoring to our people; and importantly, progressing the cultural aspects that support and underpin our ESD project goals and aspirations.

More specifically, our future Sustainable Design Lead, APAC, will:

- Strategy: _
- Take forward the leadership of our overall APAC ESD Project Strategy and develop a multi-year plan that sets out key targets, deliverables and actions for projects.
- Develop and implement an internal and external communications strategy and plan to promote our ESD work and to increase our brand awareness and presence in this area.
- Create connections and relationships with external thought leadership organisations and groups across APAC.

- Identify and develop project opportunities with the Populous Project and Regional Leaders.
- Identify and lead the development of Populous ESD advisory services and areas for project-based research and innovation.
- Lead ESD project reviews across the APAC region and provide design and technical inputs where required.
- Drive the integration and implementation of ESD processes, tools and workflows including those required by external environmental certification tools.
- Coordinate ESD workflows and technical requirements with the Populous BIM, IT, QA and Parametric working groups.
- Engage with regulators, government and industry groups on the development and implementation of ESD project certification, regulation ad reporting.

Having a direct reporting line through to our senior management and very close lines of interaction with our APAC Directors, ensures this role is positioned at a senior level within the company.
Our ideal future team member will also have the below qualifications, experience and skills:

- Minimum of 10 years' experience in the ESD field is preferred.
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Architecture.
- Deep understanding and proven experience in leading and managing ESD project strategies and plans that achieve successful outcomes.
- Deep understanding and knowledge of ESD related certification and management tools including GBCA Green Star and/or LEED, net zero carbon certification and Living Building Challenge.
- Proven experience in establishing and implementing company-wide project strategies and multi-year plans that are aligned to company goals and objectives.
- Experience preparing and conducting internal and external audits.
- Ability to create company-wide project strategies and associated implementation plans and leading these from the front.
- Ability to influence others to create positive cultural and projects outcomes.
- Ability to work effectively with all internal groups and teams (i.e. APAC Regional Board, project teams, BIM, HR) to progress relevant strategies, processes and education.
- Actively engaged with the architectural industry.
- High level interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal), including the ability to communicate with a broad range of team members and develop effective relationships at all levels of the organisation.
- Ability to manage and self-motivate, work collaboratively in a team environment and across an organisation, contribute to a culture of teamwork and take a shared responsibility for achieving results.
