"Kelvin Grove State College is a P-12 school with three sub-schools:Junior School - Prep to Year 5 (approx. 750 students) Middle School - Year 6 to 9 (approx. 1,600 students) Senior School - Years 10 to 12 (approx. 1,300 students) About The RoleIn Term 4, this role will be Head of Year 6 , with the potential in 2026 to transition into Head of Year 7 or remain in Head of Year 6 , depending on the successful candidate's strengths and the needs of the Middle School Team.The Head of Year role is suited to a dedicated, motivated, and enthusiastic individual who can lead initiatives that support student outcomes, while working collaboratively and respectfully within the team and broader community.The ideal candidate will set high expectations for both student and staff performance, take a future-focused and strategic approach, and provide holistic, proactive, and enabling leadership for student management and wellbeing.Responsibilities IncludeAs Head of Year, you will:Work closely with the Year Level Deputy Principal to support the academic, social-emotional and wellbeing of the cohort.
Collaborate, lead, and manage as required, to work as part of a team to plan for cohort and College events.
Be an active member of the collective Heads of Year team, led by the Deputy Principal of Holistic Education.
Manage responsibilities relating to student wellbeing, attendance, engagement, behaviour and leadership.
Play a leading role in the development, coordination and implementation of the Middle School pastoral care program.
Actively participate in a Curriculum Faculty area as a teacher with a reduced teaching load of one teaching line.
